A plan you can keep

Stop restarting. Start building.

You do not need more random workouts or an all-or-nothing challenge. You need training that fits your starting point, adapts to real life, and gives you a clear next step.

01

Start where you are

Your goals, experience, schedule, equipment, and movement concerns shape the plan.

02

Train with purpose

Every session supports strength, mobility, conditioning, or recovery. No filler.

03

Adjust and progress

Track what is working, adapt when life changes, and progress when your body is ready.

Fitness without the stigma

Let’s clear a few things up.

Fitness culture has convinced too many people that they are too old, too inexperienced, too busy, or not shaped correctly to belong. None of that is a requirement for starting.

You do not have to earn the right to move your body.

Misconception 01“I need to get in shape before I start.”

Starting is how you begin getting in shape. A good program meets your current ability and gives you an appropriate first step.

Misconception 02“Lifting weights will make me bulky.”

Building significant muscle is a gradual process shaped by training, nutrition, recovery, and genetics. Strength training can help you feel stronger and more capable without forcing one particular look.

Misconception 03“A workout has to hurt to work.”

Training can be challenging, but pain is not proof of progress. Useful training builds capacity while respecting technique, recovery, and your body’s signals.

Misconception 04“I am too old to lift weights.”

There is no single age when strength stops mattering. The exercises and pace should fit the individual, but adults can work on strength, balance, and confidence at many ages.

Misconception 05“The gym is only for people who already look fit.”

The gym is a place to practice, not a stage you have to qualify for. Every experienced person was once learning how to begin.

Misconception 06“Missing workouts means I failed.”

Real consistency includes missed days, busy weeks, and adjusted plans. Success is learning how to return without punishing yourself.

Misconception 07“Using a lighter weight or modifying an exercise is weakness.”

Modification is a coaching tool. Choosing the version that lets you train well today is how you build toward what comes next.

Your first step is free

Meet your coach

Hello, I’m Truman.

I’m a strength and conditioning coach at Vngce Athletics with 14 years of experience coaching everyone from first-time exercisers to professional athletes. My own journey took me from 290 pounds through a complete rebuild, and it taught me that lasting results require patience, commitment, and a plan that works in real life.

Hey, I wanted to thank you for being patient and positive with me and being a great coach. The last 1+ years have been crazy between carpal tunnel, tennis elbow surgeries and then broken rib but you have been so great.

I needed a gym win and it felt good to being able to go from 75 max clean and 75 max clean and jerk to do 95lbs today and possibly 100 lbs according to you 😅

Anyway thank you for being you and being part of my gym journey 🙏🏼

I began doing personal training sessions with Truman when I first started going to VNGCE gym and knew that I needed time outside of classes to build a good foundation for all of the new movements that I saw in the various workouts. My goal was to learn good form and build good habits. From lifts, such as power cleans and jerks, to gymnastic movements, such as kipping pull ups, toe-to-bars, and handstand push-ups, Truman was able to break down each movement and worked with me step-by-step to not only teach me the correct execution of each movement, but to also help build the strength and endurance necessary to efficiently perform each movement during workouts. Over time, I was not only able to learn how to do each movement individually, but was also able to build up my volume under Truman’s coaching to optimize my WODs by stringing the movements together in an efficient manner

Since teaching me the basics, Truman has been great at helping me reach all my subsequent fitness goals. From helping me build my strength to hit certain lifting goals, to teaching me more complex movements, such as bar muscle ups, to helping me build my efficiency and endurance during WODs, Truman has always been able to intelligently program to help me achieve my goals. Even when suffering an injury outside of the workout arena, Truman has been great with helping me through my rehabilitation; customizing workouts and movements to ensure that I can continue working out in a manner that will not risk further injury or compromise my recovery. Truman always emphasizes following the journey, rather than going beyond healthy limits.

In the end, Truman truly cares about his clients and goes above and beyond to help his clients reach their fitness goals in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. I cannot recommend him enough if you want a supportive coach who will help you hit your fitness goals

TruFitness4Life client Personal training and movement skill development

I started working with Truman when I was about 1 year postpartum. Within 6 months of working together I was back to a healthy body weight and the strongest I had ever been! He helped me build long lasting healthy habits that were truly life changing. I can’t recommend him enough!

Marissa Postpartum strength and healthy habit transformation

I had worked out previous to working with Truman and had always been conscientious of my overall health, but was at a plateau and wanted to get leaner and stronger. My goals were simple: look strong, feel strong, stay healthy, and keep up with my kids.

What helped me most was consistently communicating my goals and keeping a routine of training twice a week. Truman is able to adjust workouts based on my goals and provide strength training that is progressive.

Currently, I am stronger and leaner and have more endurance than when I first started my training with Truman. Continuing training with Truman keeps me accountable and on track with my goals!

Questions, answered

Know before you start.

Fitness should feel clear before it feels hard. Here are the basics.

What does coaching cost?

The founding-client 1:1 coaching package is $299 per month for three months, or $897 total. The first coaching call is free, and there is no obligation to enroll after the call. Sport performance, youth, in-person, or hybrid services may be priced differently based on the service provided.

What happens during the free coaching call?

You will talk through your goals, training experience, schedule, available equipment, current obstacles, and the kind of support you want. If coaching is a good fit, Truman will recommend a next step. If it is not, you will still leave with clearer direction.

Is there a minimum commitment?

Yes. The founding 1:1 package is a 12-week commitment billed in three monthly payments. The complete coaching agreement, payment schedule, pause or cancellation terms, and what is included will be provided for review before you pay or enroll. The payment processor may describe billing as a subscription, but the founding offer is intended to cover three payments for one 12-week term unless you separately agree to continue.

Is coaching online or in person?

Online coaching is available for people who train at home or in a gym. Ask during the free call about current in-person or hybrid availability through Vngce Athletics.

Do I need a gym?

No. Your plan can use bodyweight, bands, dumbbells, kettlebells, or a full gym. The best setup is the one you can use consistently.

Is this only for beginners?

No. The free plan is beginner-friendly, while personal coaching can support experienced adults and recreational athletes with more specific goals.

What if I miss workouts or have a difficult week?

You have not failed. Coaching can shorten, reschedule, or simplify the week so you can keep moving without trying to punish yourself or cram missed sessions into an unrealistic schedule.

Can this help with fat loss?

Strength training and consistent activity can support fat loss, but the core focus is building sustainable habits, strength, mobility, and capacity.

What if I have pain, an old injury, or recent surgery?

Training can often be adjusted around mild, stable limitations, but coaching is not medical treatment or rehabilitation. Sharp or worsening pain, swelling, numbness, fainting, chest pain, severe shortness of breath, or uncertainty after surgery should be handled by a qualified clinician before training.

Can youth and older adults be coached safely?

Yes, when training is matched to the person’s age, experience, goals, and readiness. Youth coaching emphasizes technique, coordination, confidence, and age-appropriate progression. Older-adult coaching emphasizes strength, balance, capacity, and practical independence.

What is the cancellation policy?

The cancellation and rescheduling terms depend on the service you choose. You will receive them in writing before payment so you can review the commitment and make an informed decision.

How quickly should I expect results?

There is no responsible promise of instant results. Early wins may include better consistency, confidence, technique, or energy. Meaningful strength, performance, and body-composition changes usually require steady work over months, and individual results vary.
